Norwegian Heroes

We made full use of our Oslo 24 hour passes tripping back and forwards on the ferries and visiting some museums and galleries. These were the standouts for me:
The Munch gallery with a 150 year retrospective exhibition of his works including of course 'the scream' but many other emotionally charged paintings...quite a revelation for me who knew little about the man or his repertoire.
The Kon-Tiki  Museum with a full sized replica of Thor Heyerdahl's balsa raft and also the Ra II.
We also loved the Fram Museum based around the Norwegian Arctic and Antarctic exploration ship on which Nansen  discovered the Northwest Passage and Amundsen voyaged to Antarctica. Both were very informative displays about heroic feats and great Boys Own stuff.
