Astrup Fearnley and Munch Musuem

We took the subway out to the Munch Museum. It was a real treat to see so much of his work all in one place, grouped in phases. The progression through  the galleries over several floors builds up a very emotionally charged experience, and it feels a bit exposed and wierd to emerge back into the park outside on a normal Oslo afternoon.  Used Oslo pass to the max, next visited new contemporary museum....

Great building on the waterfront, difficult to photograph but cool to walk around and within... Designed by Renzo Piano .

Damien Hirst's stuff was actually a really impressive spectacle

Sigma Polke is a fave of mine but have only ever seen photos, fantastic to see the real thing... 2m x 3m all poured resin, from the 60s

  1. Hey Nell - was she an inspiration for your polystyrene stuff or have you discovered her since? I think yours had more exciting forms...
