Olympos

M braves the surf

N has a turkish coffee in the little cafe with this view of the beach.

Flowers all over the dunes

The old pirate castle on the headland

OSH would go crazy, there are massive drops off over the cliffs with not a sign or fence in sight

Mini Cyclomen growing in almost bare rock everywhere among the ruins

Is that a naked woman in the background?

Old tombs and temples  at Olympos

Flat batts on the phone... But it was beautiful wandering up the clear sparking stream with the Olympus ruins on either side. The huge stone doorway to the temple edged with intricate beading seems improbable up against the sky with most structures fallen down around it.  The Roman baths and mini aqueducts from 70 BC are pretty intact. Also the semi circular theatre. Some city walls built with polygonal structure, blocks that fit with more that 4 differently angles sides to interlock with no mortar, are still perfectly intact. It's very beautiful wandering among the buildings. Trees have grown up through giving dappled shade and  the whole site is kept very natural with no signs or roped off areas, just little tracks with the occasional small wooden arrow.
