Lisbon and look who we ran into!

Resident cats near our apartment.

Walked around down to the waterfront
Came across this work made from rusting steel wool

Plenty of this artwork

Subtle sign on this minimalist artwork...

Blowholes in this floating bar cause mayhem

Back near the apartment  a park overlooking the river and bridge

The apartment

Look who we ran into! Of all the places we could each have been we met Mark and Philippa on a busy street corner in Lisbon. It was really cool to see them, and hear about their travels.

Breakfast of Pasteis de Nata at the Belém Pastelaria

Crisp thin buttery puff pastry with baked, slightly citrus egg yolk custard filling. Sprinkle with cinnamon. The recipe Originated in the nearby Jeronimós Monastery. It developed as a way to use the egg yolks left from the use of egg whites for starching garments, and for clarifying wine.

Dave and the Jeronimós Monastery, beautiful Samueline and Rennaissance styles in Limestone. The saint of navigation stands in the centre of the doors to welcome and farewell sailors

Looking up the Tower of Belèm

Relief for tall people in the lower floor

Still can't believe we met up...lovely coincidence!
