A day in London

We took the train into Blackfriars from Gatwick and had breakfast at the Tate, exceptionally good.  This is the endless stair  - design installation on the lawn out the front the Tate Modern inspired by Escher ... Maybe it's cool for kids to play on but for me it totally lacked the magic perspectival distortion of Escher's drawings. I saw the Mira Schendel exhibition and Murray went through the permanent shows. Wonderful. M particularly taken by Gerthart Reichter's works...there is hope yet.
Then wandered through St Paul's Cathedral, with choirs as it was a Sunday, really lovely. Contrasted this with a stroll through bustling Camden Town markets. Nell conned a leather salesman into selling her a beautiful green jacket with her good looks and charmed. Then met up with Stephen, David and Hana for dinner at a great Japanese restaurant. Lovely to see Stephen again, and farewell Dave and Hana...might be a long time before we see them again.
