Walking back down to earth

Now looking at these three parts of Sasso from the other side..

This cable car is so cute, it's a one person pod that you had to stand up in. goes up to a climbers' rifugio and three or four climbs of various difficulties. We decided to walk round the side through the 'city of rocks' which was stunningly pretty.

It was really beautiful with a Japanese spareness and filled with the pink native rhododendrum bushes but all natural.

Not sure if this is readable. But fascinating geological history. Basically the coral seabed blocks have withstood massive glaciers from 15000 bc but their integrity was undermined as softer rock was drawn out from amongst it and massive blocks have crashed down the valleys.

Still a bit of snow high up

Cool steep ravines to walk down

Sasso group starts to look like one mass again as we go further round

Late afternoon Picnic lunch by huge boulders. Looks like a touch of sunburn all round. Then back down to the cable car
