Omegna...Lago Orta

Here we are in a small Italian town at the northern end of Lago Orta. Visited 3 countries yesterday...France, Switzerland and Italy. Said farewell to David, our great host at the Vertetblanc.

Luckily offered a lift to Martigny from chamonix by Christian, a Norwegian guy we met at our gite. We had a few hours to fill in at Martigny but by chance there was an excellent exhibition on highlighting the works of Modigliani...amongst the best I have been to... And some interesting sculptures in the adjacent arboretum/park.
The train from Brig to Domodosola was crowded mostly with Italianites who work in Switzerland going home for the weekend.
Our apartment here is roomy and on the second floor overlooking the main piazza and the lake. Good value! There is street noise but heh this is the dolce vita. Popped out for a walk along the shore this morning forgetting that they have daylight saving here and wondering why no one else much up and about. Picked up some essential supplies and a few non essential ones from the market to fortify for the day ahead. Ciao.
